The Scent of a Schemer
A sarcastic short story about a 1 Million perfume original vs a fake. Hilarious tale of luxury, imitation, and the pungent price of deceit.
(Story Begins)
So, Chadwick von Moneybags swaggers into the gala, a cloud of 1 Million Parfum Original trailing him like a bespoke financial advisory firm. Notes of effervescent citrus, premium leather, and the subtle, unmistakable aura of generational wealth announce his arrival. It’s a masterpiece of perfumery.
Then, there’s Barry. Barry bought his "1 Mill-ion" off a guy in a van. Barry’s scent profile is… ambitious. Top notes of regret, a heart of chemical despair, and a base of pungent, screechy failure.
Chadwick’s scent is a long-lasting, complex whisper of confidence.
Barry’s is a cheap, synthetic scream for help that lasts exactly as long as his credibility.
The crowd parts for Chadwick. They part for Barry, too, but for very different, eye-watering reasons. The authentic luxury of one, a cautionary tale in a bottle for the other.
